A balanced match report from the euphoric scribe:
Tuesday’s match started like so many others before. The Rinks were evenly matched with Rink ‘C’ winning the first end. Despite making errors Rink ‘ C ‘ then won again. Then they kept winning. We waited, and waited, for the Rink ‘B’ kick back – but nothing. With 20 minutes remaining one of Rink ‘C’ quietly expressed unease, even embarrassment at the score. We should let Rink ‘B’ win an end – Consternation – the equally quiet reply – OH NO – SOME OF US ARE ENJOYING THIS! Anyway, they could get an eight at the next end and where would we be? So be assured Rink ‘B’ would take no joy from us throwing an end.
Then relief on the bell, as Rink ‘B’ won the last end ‘fair and square’. So that conscience was satisfied, but the question remains – ‘just imagine the joy of continuing the scoring back at the start of the board?🤫’
