Rinks : ‘C’ MacCornerkicky’ v.  ‘B’ Deemo

‘Status Quo?‘

‘Hello’,

With ‘Sweet chariot’ off on social duties we had young ‘Blue’ as stand in with the aim to see if we could break this seasons run of results with us with rink MacCornerkicky – or would the ‘Status Quo’ be maintained!

With all the curling events currently going on over the globe we could truly say there was ‘rocking all over the world’. Could we take inspiration from the Mouats of this world alas no But, ‘Just supposin’ you subscribe to the ideology that it’s ‘Never too late’ you just got to ‘Rock till you drop’ and cry out ‘The party aint over yet’!

And so, with the bit between their teeth, Rink Deemo got off to a solid start notching up a three at the first end, the ‘Perfect remedy’ to any pre-match nerves.

End two saw rink MacCornerkicky claw back one. Not a ‘Piledriver’ but certainly a wake-up call.

End three saw rink Deemo notch up a further two shots to take a 5 – 1 lead and calm was restored.

Then, horror of horrors, end four saw rink MacCornerkicky clock up a 5 shot score after some ‘Heavy traffic’ played down the out-turn and shots lining up and  hidden behind a wall of granite – good stones were being played by both rinks but rink MacCornerkicky were ‘Under the influence’ of a skip intent on keeping his bragging rites in this encounter.

Ends fie and six saw rink ‘Deemo’ take a two then single to open up a slight lead again BUT!

End seven saw rink MacCornerkicky clock up a further three shots to complete the turn over to make them nine shots to eight in the lead. Surprisingly, time was not up and we completed a quick turn around to play out an eighth end – no time wasting long deliberations have consequences!

The last end commenced and knowing what was need to secure a win the cry from rink Deemo was once again ‘The party aint over yet’ and ‘Whatever you want’ we shall try to play! And so they did. Two stones were subsequently tucked away behind a granite wall and a final two shot count it was! Rink Deemo were victorious 10 shots to 9!.

My thanks to ‘Blue’ ‘Snudge’ and ‘Round them up’ for sticking with me on our quest. We look forward to our next outing in the main league in January but for now we go into the 3^rd’s League and skips feel the pressure of being at the sharp end of the game!!!
