The BvD match on 4th Dec had both teams at their full line-up, with no subs needed. It became a good tight game of shifting fortunes and tight margins.
Team B scored first, but Team D came back with a couple of ends, before the pendulum then swung back again. One side of the ice was running distinctly faster than the other, presenting a bit of a challenge.
Team D pulled it back again, with a good range of shots – from James Mac particularly, earning him both sides’ vote for ‘player of the match’.
Going into the final end team D were cradling a two shot advantage, but we’d come unstuck from that position before! Dave lay a cracking opening stone spot on the button, but Fiona put two stones right against it, so it was going to be all about the centre. By the time it got to the skips, Team B were lying 3 up in the 4-foot, (deja vu!) but with his last stone Rob managed to nudge in to lie shot, and couldn’t watch, but John’s final stone just ran out of steam, to leave it there. Big relief all round in the team D camp, at last!
Cheers, Rob
